PAACS Surgical Resident Training
The Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons is offering an opportunity to sponsor a second-year surgical resident from Rwanda, currently training at Kibuye Hope Hospital in Burundi.
It costs $25,000 annually for tuition and living expenses for the 5 years which is a total of $125,00."You have helped make it possible for Christian surgeons and related specialists to continue being trained, discipled, and sent to places where surgical care is desperately needed. We are also reminded again of how deeply PAACS is valued across Africa.
“Applications for next year’s class have now closed, and we received 783 applications for only 55 available seats. That number is both encouraging and heartbreaking. We are grateful that so many feel called to this work, but we also wish we could accept more...
“One beautiful example of this is unfolding in Sierra Leone. Years ago, God opened the door for PAACS to invest in pediatric surgical care in a nation where the need was overwhelming. With the support of faithful partners like you, Dr. Aiah Lebbie completed his PAACS training and returned home. Today, he is the only pediatric surgeon serving the children of Sierra Leone."

Theological Training for Rwandan Pastors
The Diocese of the Rocky Mountains has an opportunity to sponsor one year of formal theological training for Anglican pastors, helping to prevent church closure by the Rwandan government for the very small amount of ~$1,000 USD.
If any parishes are interested in sponsoring a pastor/priest, please contact Anthony Aspesi (anthony@drm.church), who can help facilitate sponsorship and the fostering of a sister church connection with a parish in the Byumba Diocese of Rwanda.

Thriving Center in Rwanda
The Byumba Diocese in Rwanda runs a vocational training program that enrolls 100+ individuals every year. At the diocese’s “Thriving Center,” students learn masonry, welding, carpentry, sewing, weaving, and more. Graduates of the program go on on to procure jobs throughout the region. In fact, some program graduates are now employing newer graduates of the Thriving Center!
Due to its success, the Byumba Diocese is seeking to expand its program and build more facilities. It is currently working on a Conference Center and Administration Block.
“As the largest gathering place in the region, [the Conference Center] will host weddings, youth conferences, government meetings, and pastoral training."
