The primary ministers in the church and of the church are the laos, the people of God. At the same time, Godly leadership, authority, and service are vital to the life and health of the church. The training up of qualified ordained clergy is essential so that these clergy are motivated and trained to equip the saints for God’s work.
To that end, Clergy Formation in the Diocese has two main areas of concentration:
The ongoing encouragement and formation of those who are already ordained. The ministry work clergy are engaged in provides opportunities for both pain and glory. As a result, those engaged in ordained church leadership require ongoing encouragement and formation.
The ordination process itself. The journey toward ordination is meant to be one of discernment, education, formation, and equipping. The bar is set high for those seeking to be ordained, but the process is also meant to be accessible.
